10/11/14 - Fish, Hranz, Right3ous, Shadow, and me, Claire
[Meta-Notes] We added Right to our campaign, so we did this last session online using roll20, a free online virtual tabletop. I used it for just our visual aids and each player controlled their own character dot on the maps. It was really neat. Took some extra time setting it up than if we were to have played at my kitchen table again, but was worth the extra effort because not everytime will we be able to gather round the table.
Some character changes were made~ Fish and Hranz made new characters, picking up in exp where the others had left off; and Right had joined us.
Dranz (Hranz) decided to play Giant's Feet some more with some of the local dwarves. He ended up "dying" somehow and his corpse was recovered from the bottom of the pit by the newcomer Meliodas (Hranz). Fish (Fish), the Deva got sick of our group and decided to leave as we were "unworthy". Aria (Fish), a bard joined our plight instead. We also met Boradas (Right) for the first time as well, a Human Cleric.
Getting back to Hammerfast, the group was met by Marsinda Goldspinner, a "big" dwarf (her dot was just bigger than the others haha). She petitioned the adventurers to escort her son's caravan to the town over and back safely. After a short question and answer session, the adventurer's agreed. They resupplied and went out with Galwik Goldspinner, heading west out of town towards the plains.
About halfway to the other town, the group was set upon by a pack of wolves. Claire of course, can't hit a door standing still and just kept one of the wolves busy as the other party members swiftly and surely removed the other threats. They came over to join her afterwards. Shadow decided that he wanted to skin the wolves for fur and for meat. No one had a dagger or a hunting knife on them, so he he used his long sword. He mutilated two of the 5 corpses and was successful at almost-not-mutilating two others. He recovered two pelts, some meat, and 20 gold pieces out of one of the wolves' stomach. Right decided to follow suit and tried to skin the fifth wolf with his hammer. He was of course, covered in blood and entrails. Both of the men stank to high heaven and Shadow was suffering in a daze because of his stench. He fell over once or twice and had to walk behind the caravan to be down wind from the rest of the party.
Thankfully, all other encounters were avoided because of the smell, and the group made their way to the next town uneventfully the rest of the way. There, Aria, being a bard in a town that revers bards, was able to ensure free board and room for the party, and some baths... which were used immediately. They stayed the night there and the next morning the caravan was loaded with the trade goods they were sent to pick up and they left for home shortly after.
Along the way back home, they encountered a pair of Orcs with their pet Dire Boar. The boar hit hard and Aria was seriously hurt. Thanks to her allies though, that was quickly remedied. Claire still couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.. so the rest of the party was able to slowly but surely took care of the two orcs and the boar. Aria found a pair of waning magic glasses in one of the tents at their campsite. Right found a grappling hook and a lantern in another, as well as a "love scene" leftovers...
They quickly left the Orc camp to be soon stopped by a Halfling Bandit. Meliodas scared the bejeebers out of the halfling with a Bluff and Intimidate and the party was shocked when they saw 9 bandits skulk away with their tails between their legs. The rest of the journey back to Hammerfast was uneventful.
Upon arriving in Hammerfast, again, the group saw a Dwarf, standing on a soap box, preaching to all those who would listen about how all the non-dwarves were making trouble in their town; how bandit problems were rising, and how life would be better if all the non-dwarves were removed from Hammerfast. He was quickly escorted away by the local guards before a riot could ensue.
Marsinda and Galkwik Goldspinner rewarded the adventurers with gold and a magic item apiece for the successful trip and offered them a free stay at the Coach and Pony Inn. The adventurers were happy and took the rest of the day off to relax and unwind.
