Dungeons & Dragons with Cherries [1]

10/4/2014 - Hammerfast Campaign (Hranz, Fish, Shadow, & Claire)

Basic overview, writing this down while it's still fresh in my mind. I plan on making a better story out of it later ^_^

Dranz, Fish, Shadow, and Claire reached Hammerfast early in the morning.

Dranz challenges a dwarf to a game of Giant's Feet. He and the dwarf end up both falling into the pit. Dranz throws Fish into the pit for putting him up to the game in the first place.

We learn from a dwarf back in the pub during a drinking contest with Dranz that there is an outpost to the North of Hammerfast that the dwarf would love to visit again. The dwarf agrees to lead them to the outpost.

Along the way, Shadow scares the piss out of two bandits and the whole party clears through a small pack of wolves.

Upon reaching the outpost, the dwarf leaves to return to Hammerfast and the party begins exploring the first floor of the outpost. Fish finds a magical talisman and ring, and an old ritual book. Suddenly the party is attacked from the stairway by an orc who swiftly falls. Another replaces him who fairs no better. Upstairs, the party finds a piece of pricey art of the last General to govern the outpost. Apparently he was a coward who hid in his quarters during that final battle. Upon exploring said quarters, the party happens upon a Leader Orc and his lackey. It was a tough battle but the four champions made it through in the end, salvaging some blades and armor. The party takes the painting and stays the night at the outpost held up in the General's Quarters with thankfully no night-time activity.

Come morning they head back towards Hammerfast. Halfway there, they meet up with the dwarf who led them to the outpost in the first place. He looks a lilttle trigger happy and inquires about the goods that they got. Meeting resistance, the dwarf attacks the party and... Let's just say "It was not his day." The dwarf suffers severe wounds and is killed almost immediatly. Upon his helm was engraved his name, Edward Dwarfington III Esquire. Shadow took the dwarf's warhammer and proceeded to smash the helm to dust and then miraculously turned the dwarf himself into dust with the same hammer. They continued back to Hammerfast uneventfully where they appraise their loot and sell the unwanted items and the painting.
